This Neoclassical Table is made by the preeminent maître-ébéniste (master cabinetmaker) Adam Weisweiler (1744 – 1820). The Sophisticated Neoclassical Work Table is finished on both sides with satinwood and mahogany veneers. The writing surface has a black hand tooled leather with a Pierced Brass Gallery. The front of the table has a single drawer with satinwood & mahogany veneer and is mirrored on the back with a faux drawer. The four faux bamboo bronze columns terminate into a satinwood veneered base with a mahogany X-Stretcher and four satinwood veneered and brass inlay sabre legs. The table is Stamped “A WEISWEILER” on the bottom of writing table top, see photo 20. There are three examples of the faux bronze columns used on tables in “Maurice Ségoura WEISWEILER Par Patricia Lemonnier” on page 90.
