This Caribbean solid Mahogany with Satinwood Inlay vernacular sideboard is made in Jamaica, circa 1820-1840. It is one of the Rare Jamaican Regency Sideboards that exhibits an unusual exuberant carved frontal frieze with the decorative motif echoed on the backsplash. This West Indies example incorporates a dominant design motif being a central cluster of Feathers “Prince of Wales Plumes ” flanked by Palm Fronds and “S” Scrolls. The British Colonial Style mahogany turned legs are surmounted by Satinwood inlaid blocks flanking the craved frieze. This Jamaican serving table has the traditional cutlery drawer concealed on the side. Serving Height: 38 1/5 inches high.
