St. Thomas Regency Four Poster Mahogany Queen Bed, 19th C.

This stylized Regency Caribbean bed was created in early half of the 19th century, circa 1820, and features a carved headboard with zoomorphic forms. The bed has four turned and reeded bed posts with stacked rings and can accommodate a queen size mattress. A similar bed is mentioned in “Caribbean Elegance” by Michael Connors, pages 40 & 44.
