Gustavian / Russian Neoclassical Bronze and Silvered Crystal Chandelier, 19th C.
$49,500.00
This Regal Gustavian Period Chandelier in the Russian Imperial Style has twelve candle branches and is fashioned in doré bronze, silverplated bronze, and is pinned with faceted icicle crystal pendants. The elegant corona has bronze sprays with icicle crystal pendants flowing up into a stylized fountain motif. There are four hand wrought silvered bronze chains suspending from the corona to the doré bronze ringed console with four clusters of three candelabra arms and four fronds in between with one faceted crystal icicle prism hanging. Suspended from the ringed console by four bronze s-curved rods is a Silver-Plated inverted curved cone frustum crowned by a Bronze Repoussé Ring Stylized with Cascading Water Plumes and surrounded with bronze sprays with one faceted crystal icicle on each. The Silver-Plated cone frustum is finished with bronze sprays with faceted crystal icicle encircling a faceted crystal ball pendent. The focal point of this Neoclassical Light Fixture is the centerpiece of bronze sprays with icicle crystal Pendants representing a Stylized Cascading Fountain with Water Plumes flouting above the ring candelabra console. This simplicity design of this Russian Imperial Design chandelier has a sophistication only found in classic design.
Rewired: rewired with porcelain sockets. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. There is some minor silver plate wear on the inverted curved cone frustum.
