19th Century American Iron, Clad in Copper Torchieres

This pair of torchieres can also be used as planters if the top part is removed. This beautiful pair is made of iron with clad in copper detailing. These pieces feature claw feet with a trapezoid bottom that is decorated with scrolls. The top of the base features acanthus leaves that lead into the middle part of the pieces. They were originally constructed for gas in 1840, but were later converted to electricity.
